Conscious Step - Wear What You Believe In
Conscious Step was founded on a simple idea: that small choices, made consciously, can create big change. The company began in 2014, when three friends - Prashant Mehta, Hassan Ahmad, and Adam Long - realised that everyday purchases could be used to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges.
They chose socks as their medium - practical, visible, and universal - and built a brand that lets you wear what you believe in. Each pair supports a specific cause through a direct donation to a trusted non-profit partner, helping fund projects for clean water, mental health, reforestation, education, and wildlife conservation.
From a childhood habit of giving back to a global social enterprise, Conscious Step has grown from a dream shared among friends to a movement empowering conscious consumers around the world. Together, their customers have already helped plant 742,000+ trees, provide over 113,000 books for children, and deliver clean water to nearly 10,000 people.

But Conscious Step is about more than donations - it’s about changing how fashion is made. Every pair of socks is produced in Fairtrade-certified factories in India using GOTS-certified organic cotton, ensuring farmers and workers receive fair pay and safe working conditions. Their socks are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from harmful dyes, herbicides, and pesticides. Even the packaging is sustainable, made with recycled materials and soy-based inks.
Conscious Step’s factory partners are independently audited by WRAP and SEDEX, and certified by OEKO-TEX, Fairtrade International, and GOTS. Regular visits from their India and U.S. teams ensure transparency and accountability every step of the way.
In a world where global issues can feel overwhelming, Conscious Step offers a simple way to take action — one small step at a time. With every pair you put on, you’re helping create a more equitable, sustainable, and compassionate future.
Because change starts from the ground up.
