Kapula, in South Africa, have been hand-crafting candles and ceramics for over 20 years in a small farming community.  A large part of Kapula’s focus is on creating sustainable employment in their community, where it is not easy to find work without being able to drive a tractor or herd cattle – 90% of their workers are women, and more than half of them have worked with Kapula for over ten years. They are provisional members of the World Fair Trade Organisation, and apply their principles to create a positive and empowering work environment.
