Kapula, in South Africa, have been hand-crafting candles and ceramics for over 20 years in a small farming community. A large part of Kapula’s focus is on creating sustainable employment in their community, where it is not easy to find work without being able to drive a tractor or herd cattle – 90% of their workers are women, and more than half of them have worked with Kapula for over ten years. They are a Guaranteed Fair Trade Organisation, certified by the World Fair Trade Organisation.
